A sunflower, but with a moodier side.
 
Autumn Sun began with a beautiful piece of Ocean Jasper, filled with earthy greens, creams and warm rust tones. I surrounded the stone with individually formed sterling silver petals, creating a bold sunflower that feels right at home as the days begin to get shorter.
 
Each petal has a subtle texture along its upper surface to echo the natural texture of a flower. A deep patina brings out those details and the recessed lines in the petals, giving the silver a softly aged finish while letting the wonderfully patterned Ocean Jasper remain the focus.
 
I finished the necklace with a handmade sterling silver toggle clasp - always a favorite - and added a 3-inch section of chain so the toggle can fasten through multiple links, giving you flexibility in where the necklace falls.
